This week, as in right NOW, Spring Kids Camp is happening at El Rancho. There's around 160 kids there. 40ish leaders. A bunch of Leaders in Training. And all the staff too.
But... Not me.
But... Not me.
For the past 5 school holidays, I've volunteered as a cabin leader at these kids camps, and I absolutely love it! But that whole change thing I talked about in my last post- becoming a Weltec student- has meant I've had to give this camp a miss. It's so guttering for me to not be there this week leading a group of kids, doing all I can to show them Jesus' love and having an amazing time alongside other sold-on-Jesus teenagers. But I know God has good things for me to be doing here and I know that the leaders who are there are all going to have amazing experiences and do incredible things for God's Kingdom!
Although I couldn't miss Tech for the week, I was able to go over for Sunday and Monday (study day woo!) during the leader's training. This was SO SO SO SO good!
I had the opportunity to minister to the leaders who were preparing for the camp ahead of them. I was able to firstly, connect and have fun, then worship God and be really filled with His love, and finally spill that love over onto the incredible people who are sacrificing their week to serve God. A massive part of the weekend is focussed on prayer. It was such a blessing to be able to just pray for heaps of people, asking the Spirit to lead and guide them. I know that if I was cabin leading there's no way I'd have been able to pour out to other people the way I did, but because I didn't have camp, I was in a position that meant I could join in the group of people who were there to support, encourage, and uplift these leaders to God's care. It was a totally beautiful time and I'm so stoked to have been a part of it.
I pray that God uses me in my week even though I'm not at camp, and that He also moves in powerful ways in the lives of the kids and leaders who are!
LASTLY, I'm just gonna add in this adorable photo from the weekend! El Rancho hosts a number of international volunteers and it was super nice getting to meet a few of them! This is Kira, Laura, Gina, and Melo as well as myself and my best friend Destini. :)
