That's the title to a book I've been reading over the last month or so by a man named David Jeremiah. I've grown up, lived my whole life thus far, knowing the beautiful truth that God loves me. But never before have I understood how much there is to say about that truth or the depth and hugeness about it. I find it absolutely mind blowing and life changing. It's news that never gets old. I can wake up everyday and think, "God actually, truly, deeply loves me." and it will never fade or be any less real. EVER.
This gets even better... because the same applies to YOU.
I can't share this entire book with you. I can't explain to you everything it's done in me and the joy I've experienced from reading and learning from it. But I will share just one quote. This part was written near the end of the book. It's talking about the fact that because God so overwhelmingly loves us, we in turn can love others. I'll let it speak for itself,
"Loving one another is not a discipline reserved for advanced Christians or a gift belonging to naturally tolerant people. It's not an option or an extra or a frilly wrapping to make religion more attractive. Love is the heartbeat of our faith; and if we detect no pulse, there is no faith." (Dr. David Jeremiah)
Love is the heartbeat of our faith. Have you ever thought about the fact that from the moment your heart was existent, it has never missed a beat, but continuously pumped blood through your body, allowing you to have life? Love brings faith to life. Love gives our faith reason. Love is our motivation to turn mere faith, into action. Love is at the core of who we are. Love is what we crave. Love is free to us to accept. A love like no other.
Friends, God loves you, He always has - He always will.
